Question 350: To ask the Minister for Education and Science if there are plans to bring teachers' salaries into line regardless of whether they achieved first, second or third class honours in their BA degrees; and if there is to be a limit on when the degree was awarded for teachers to benefit. The issue raised by the Deputy is currently the subject of a claim from the Teacher Unions under the auspices of the Teachers' Conciliation Council. It would therefore not be appropriate for me to comment on the matter until the claim has been finalised.
