Question 238: To ask the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the number of homicides, detections of homicides, prosecutions of homicides, and convictions for homicides since 1998 to date in 2007 broken down by age and sex of victim, location of the offence and the means by which the homicides were carried out; and if he will make a statement on the matter. In the time available it has not been possible to obtain the statistics sought by the Deputy for the period in question. I will be in contact with the Deputy when the information is to hand.
