Question 308: To ask the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if she has ascertained from all public service agencies involved in decentralisation the make-up of the 2,800 people who have taken up posts due to decentralise; the number of these who are transferring with their post from Dublin, who are transferring upon promotion and who are new recruits; and if she will set out the relevant data. To the end of September, 329 civil servants have been assigned to posts in my Department under the decentralisation programme. Some 250 have already transferred to my Department's offices in Portlaoise. 180 of the 250 were Dublin-based and 70 were from other locations. Almost 50% of the assignments were as a result of applications to the Central Applications Facility, some internal but the majority from other Departments. 28% of assignments were on promotion. The remainder consists of officers who are either in the post or who requested a transfer internally.
