I am informed by the Garda Commissioner that the total number of firearms authorisation cards issued to members of the Garda Síochána (all ranks) for the year ending the 31st of December 2006 and 24th August 2007 is set out hereunder. (The last audit conducted in relation to the issue of firearm authorisation cards was the 24th August 2007).

For Security and Operational reasons it is not Garda Policy to disclose the number of firearms authorisation cards issued on a Divisional basis.
