Under the terms of my Department's Primary School Transport Scheme, pupils who reside 3.2 kilometres or more from, and are attending, their nearest Gaelscoil are eligible for free school transport. Where it is not feasible to arrange a school transport service for eligible pupils, grant-aid may be provided to parents/guardians towards the cost of making their own transport arrangements.

My Department proposes to examine the particular circumstances of the case referred to in the question and will revert to the Deputy when enquiries have been completed.
