Under the terms of the Post Primary School Transport Scheme, a pupil is eligible for school transport if s/he lives 4.8 kilometres or more from the post-primary centre in the catchment area in which s/he resides. The Transport Liaison Officer (TLO) for County Sligo has advised that the pupil referred to by the Deputy in the details supplied is eligible for school transport and is availing of a Bus Éireann public scheduled bus service to and from school. My Department has been further informed by the TLO that the combined travel and waiting times for the pupil in question are within the general guidelines of the School Transport Scheme. In the circumstances, it is not proposed to put in place alternative arrangements.
