Question 296: To ask the Minister for Transport and the Marine if his Department will accept the contents of the recent feasibility study which strongly advocates the re-opening of the railway stations at Killucan, Hill of Down and so on; if his Department will liaise with Iarnród Éireann to help make progress with this project; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The location of stations on the rail network is an operational matter for Iarnród Éireann. I understand from the company that Westmeath and Meath County Councils have submitted to them the results of a feasibility study on the re-opening of a station at Killucan or Hill of the Downs. I understand that Iarnród Éireann are currently considering this report and will respond in due course to the Councils.
