Question 159: To ask the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food the progress that has been made on compensation for fishermen, in view of the economic hardship for offshore islanders, arising from the ban on salmon fishing; if she is planning to make special concessions or provide a higher level of compensation for island fishermen; and if she will make a statement on the matter. Responsibility for inland fisheries and the salmon hardship scheme rests with the Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources and I have no function in the matter.
