Question 193: To ask the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government if his Department has agreed a definition of heath with the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (details supplied); and if he will provide this definition, if it has now been agreed. [19191/07]

Both Departments have agreed that the definition of heath to be used in relation to afforestation applications in proposed hen harrier designated areas should be that set out in the manual for the Production of Grazing Impact Assessments in Upland and Peat Habitats, which was produced jointly by the Departments in January 1999. I have arranged to send a copy of the relevant definition to the Deputy.
