An initial allocation of €2 million for the operation of the Housing Aid for the Elderly scheme was notified to the Health Service Executive Southern region, which includes Carlow and Kilkenny, on 15 June 2007. It is a matter for the HSE Directorate of Services for Older People, which has the responsibility for the administration of the scheme, to apportion funding within the region.
