In its report of March 2007, the Task Force on Active Citizenship made a number of recommendations in relation to the strengthening and renewal of the county/city Community and Voluntary Fora, including organising them on the basis of local electoral areas and renaming them Civic Fora. These and other recommendations in the Report will be further considered in the context of the implementation plan which is to be developed by the proposed cross-departmental Active Citizenship Office. The Irish National Community and Voluntary Forum, as the representative group for the county/city fora, has been advised accordingly.
