My Department has issued Annual Passenger Licences and International Authorisations to the Londonderry & Lough Swilly Railway Company (LLSR), enabling them to provide public bus services in the North West Donegal region. The provision of bus services on specific routes is a commercial and operational matter for bus operators. In recent days, LLSR informed my Department that due to a significant decline in the number of passengers availing of their services during the summer months, the company has temporarily suspended some of their services from the 2nd of July 2007. The company advised the Department that it is their intention to resume all of their services in early September. LLSR operated a similar reduced service during July and August 2006.
