Question 345: To ask the Minister for Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs when and the way he plans to proceed with decentralisation in his Department; the way it will be implemented; the resources that will be made available; the extent to which it will be implemented; and if he will make a statement on the matter. My Department has been considering the implications of the An Bord Pleanála decision with the Office of Public Works, with a view to identifying the options available and I expect to have recommendations for action shortly.
In the meantime, I want to repeat what I said publicly and in response to a Dáil question on 27 June: the policy of decentralisation is unchanged and I remain fully committed to the decentralisation of the Department's headquarters to Co. Mayo.
