Question 346: To ask the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the reason people are recommended to send a photocopy of their licence with payment in processing their payment of their penalty points instead of being told that they must send a photocopy of their licence; and the number of persons who have had their fines increased from €60 to €90 due to such confusion. I wish to inform the Deputy that, due to technical difficulties in the Oireachtas Questions Office, the Deputy's question was not received in my Department in sufficient time to obtain a report from the Garda authorities. I will contact the Deputy again as soon as the report is to hand.
