Question 216: To ask the Minister for Agriculture and Food the number of applicants under the installation aid scheme in each of the past 10 years; the maximum payment allowed under EU rules; the plans she has to increase the rate from the present €15,000; when the new scheme will be available to applicants; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The maximum payment allowed under EU Regulation was €25,000.
The 2007-2013 Rural Development Programme provides for the continuation of an Installation Aid Scheme for young farmers with an increased grant rate of €15,000 per eligible applicant. The terms of the Scheme will be established as soon as EU approval is received for the Programme.
