Question 244: To ask the Minister for Education and Science the reason students of a school (details supplied) in County Mayo have to cross a busy road to be collected by the school bus in view of the fact that students of an adjacent school are collected in their school grounds; the reason a bus shelter between the two schools is not being used which would avoid any unnecessary risk; and if she will make a statement on the matter. I have asked Bus Éireann to communicate directly with the Deputy as the planning and organising of school bus routes is an operational matter for the company.
