Question 179: To ask the Minister for Transport the laws and statutory instruments introduced on foot of European Communities treaties or on foot of Acts, or provisions of Acts, adopted by any institution of the European Communities or other body competent under those treaties since 1972 for breach of which a penalty up to and including a maximum fine of €500,000 or a term of imprisonment not greater than three years may apply. I understand that the Deputy is seeking information on all penalties, within the limits indicated, stretching over a thirty-five year period. I have asked my officials to examine the feasibility of carrying out such an exercise and I will communicate directly with the Deputy on the matter as soon as possible.
