There is one Directive that has to be implemented by my Department — Directive 2005/36/EC on the Recognition of Professional Qualifications. This Directive was agreed on 7 September 2005 and comes into force on 20th October 2007.

Preparatory work for the drafting of regulations to meet the transposition date is at an advanced stage within the Department.
