Question 634: To ask the Minister for Transport the total kilometres of motorway and dual carriage roads built during the National Development Plan 2000 to 2006; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9730/07]

In the period 2000 to 2006 a total of 539 kilometres of new roads were completed and opened to traffic. A further 5 kilometres of roadway associated with interchanges was also provided. In addition, 349 kilometres were in construction at the end of the period in question.
