Question 523: To ask the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government the substantial costs incurred in the translation and publication of bilingual documents referred to in Parliamentary Question Nos. 129 and 163 of 27 February 2007; and if he will make a statement on the matter. It is estimated that over €70,000 has been spent on the translation of documents into the Irish language since the Department's Irish Language Scheme 2005-2008 came into effect in August 2005. As indicated in reply to Questions Nos 129 and 163 of 27 February 2007, more detailed information will be compiled later this year as part of the Department's annual progress report on implementation of the Irish language scheme.

The information sought in relation to publication costs of bilingual documents is being compiled and will be forwarded to the Deputy as soon as possible.
