Question 479: To ask the Minister for Education and Science when a decision will be made regarding the awarding of home tuition to a person (details supplied) in County Carlow; the reason for the delay in same; and if her attention has been drawn to the fact that the child has not attended school for over two years and that this has been backed up by psychologists, SENOs and principals reports. I am pleased to advise the Deputy that my Department has recently sanctioned home tuition for the pupil in question and a letter to this effect has issued to the family.

The reason for the delay is that the clinical psychologist's report was only received in my Department in the last week.
