Question 308: To ask the Minister for Health and Children if complaints have been received by the Health Service Executive or her Department in relation to damage done to children during orthodontic treatment; if so, if she will provide details of same; and if she will make a statement on the matter. No complaints regarding individual patients have been received either by my Department or by the HSE regarding alleged damage to children's teeth during orthodontic treatment.
Any such damage, if it occurred, should be brought to the attention of the Dental Council as the appropriate statutory regulatory body for complaints of that nature.
