Question 300: To ask the Minister for Health and Children if it is a fact that there is no surgeon available to see and treat a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny at the Mater Private Hospital in view of the fact that they were referred to the hospital under the National Treatment Purchase Fund; the reason their case was not dealt with by Waterford Regional Hospital in view of the fact that their general practitioner referred them in March 2004; if their case will be given priority; and if she will make a statement on the matter. I understand that the person in question was referred in November 2006 to the Mater Private Hospital for an out-patient appointment by the National Treatment Purchase Fund (NTPF). I am advised by the NTPF that the person will be contacted shortly by the Mater Private Hospital with a date for an out-patient appointment.
