I propose to take Questions Nos. 1800 and 1801 together.

The number of social housing dwellings completed and acquired by local authorities in 2006 to the end of September, including Meath and Westmeath County Councils, are available on the Department's website at www.environ.ie. The figures for the full year 2006 are currently been complied by my Department and will be published in due course in the Department's Annual Housing Statistics Bulletin for 2006 and on the Department's website.

The figures are published on a local authority basis and exclude affordable housing units but include units completed for senior citizens. Figures broken down by electoral area are not available to the Department.

Question 1802: To ask the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government the amount of money awarded to Meath County Council as payments in lieu of the requirements of Part V of the Planning and Development Act 2000 to date; the number of affordable homes delivered in each area to date; the breakdown of affordable homes by those given under Part V and those built directly by the local authority, in tabular form. A breakdown of the number of houses provided under the various affordable schemes in each local authority area up to end September 2006 is also available on this website. Information is also published in my Department's Housing Statistics Bulletins, copies of which are available in the Oireachtas Library.
