Question 1704: To ask the Minister for Education and Science if her attention has been drawn to the fact that a school (details supplied) in County Waterford has only barely over 40% of the space per pupil recommended for classrooms in Circular 0097/2006 from her Department, that the cloakroom is being used as a resource room, that a learning support room has also to be used as a multipurpose room, library and computer room and that there is no staff room or principal's room; the status of the application from the board of management for an extension; when funding will be made available for that extension; and if she will make a statement on the matter. I can confirm that the Department is in receipt of an application for capital funding from the management authority of the school to which the Deputy refers under the Small Schools Scheme 2007. Applications under this scheme are currently being assessed and a list of successful applicants will be published shortly.
