Question 1256: To ask the Minister for Transport if his Department has received correspondence from a person (details supplied) in County Roscommon regarding the date of their national car test; the reason their car is due to be tested again despite the fact that it has not been in use for the past two years; if this two year period is standard throughout the EU; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Since 13 September 2006 as a consequence of the Road Safety Authority Act 2006 (Conferral of Functions) Order 2006, responsibility for matters relating to vehicle standards, including vehicle testing, has passed to the Road Safety Authority.
