Question 403: To ask the Minister for Transport if his attention has been drawn to the fact that the pension scheme for Aer Rianta employees and pensioners is not adequately funded; his plans to ensure that adequate financial provision is made for Aer Rianta pensions; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The pension scheme in question, the Irish Airlines (General Employees) Superannuation Scheme, is a multi-employer scheme in which the Dublin Airport Authority, Aer Lingus and SR Technics participate. Pension entitlements under the scheme are primarily matters for the Trustees, the members of the scheme and the companies participating in the scheme.
