Question 515: To ask the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government the action he will take regarding the concerns of residents that inappropriate trees (details supplied) should be banned from being planted in suburban gardens due to their propensity to take over gardens; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Current Irish legislation does not provide for restrictions on the height of hedges. I have however asked my Department to prepare some preliminary proposals for dealing with this matter and I will consider the matter further then.
