Question 303: To ask the Minister for Health and Children the reason there is such a variation in charges for smear tests throughout the country; the reason some people have had to wait up to eight months for results of smear tests; the location where the tests are analysed; and the number of staff employed doing such work. The Deputy's questions relate to the management and delivery of health and personal social services, which are the responsibility of the Health Service Executive under the Health Act 2004. Accordingly, my Department has requested the Parliamentary Affairs Division of the Executive to respond directly to the Deputy in relation to the matter raised.
