In so far as my Department is concerned, no statutory Tribunals have been initiated over the past 20 years. My Department does not have the detailed information sought by the Deputy on the briefs of the various Tribunals over the past 20 years across the relevant Departments. My Department does, however, monitor spending by the State on Tribunals, Inquiries and Commissions of Investigation. The costs met to end October 2006 in respect of the Tribunals, Inquiries and Commissions of Investigations identified in the tables below are as follows:

1. Completed Inquiries:

To date, three Tribunals have been fully completed since 1990. These are the Beef Tribunal, the McCracken Tribunal and the Finlay Inquiry. The costs of the Lindsay and Dunne inquiries are essentially completed since 2005. The approximate total costs are as follows:
