I can inform the Deputy that my Department has provided funding to the project, in question, since November, 1993. A grant of €180,000 was provided to the project in the current year.

I can also inform the Deputy that the contracts for purchase of a site from Kildare County Council are executed, having been signed by a senior official of my Department in June, 2006. However, I am advised by my legal representatives that the purchase of the site is not yet complete as the Deed of Transfer and other closing documentation are still awaited from Solicitors acting on behalf of Kildare County Council. I can assure the Deputy that every effort is being made by my legal representatives to finalise this purchase.

As advised in replies to previous Parliamentary Questions Nos. 258 and 314 dated 29 March and 13 June, 2006 respectively, tabled by the Deputy planning permission has been obtained for the proposed construction of premises on that site for use by the project in question.
