The following table sets out the statutory processes involved in the appointment of chairs and members of non-Departmental public bodies under the remit of my Department and their legislative origin.

Central Bank and Financial Services Authority of Ireland (CBFSAI)The Governor of the Central Bank is the Chairperson of the Board. Under Section 19 (1) of the Central Bank Act 1942, the Governor is appointed by the President on the advice of the Government.Under Section 18B of the Central Bank Act, 1942, as inserted by Section 13 of the Central Bank and Financial Services Authority of Ireland Act 2003 the Minister for Finance appoints seven directors to the Board four of whom are members of the Regulatory Authority.
