The river in question is a channel of the Corrib Headford Catchment Drainage Scheme. Following a channel inspection, maintenance work has been carried out to sections of this channel during November 2006. Some weed cutting was also carried out to the mouth of this channel during September/October 2006. Maintenance work is carried out in consultation with the West Regional Fisheries Board so as to avoid and minimise disruption to fish habitats.
