The National Council for Special Education, NCSE, recently submitted its Implementation Report which sets out its views and recommendations on a plan for the implementation of the Education for Persons with Special Educational Needs Act 2004 and I have asked my Department to examine it. While the report focuses on the implementation of the Education for Persons with Special Education Needs Act 2004, it does have regard to the implementation of Part 2 of the Disability Act 2005 and the need for the health and education sectors to work in close cooperation to ensure the proper implementation of both acts.
