Question 398: To ask the Minister for Health and Children her views on the removal of the county boundaries that were means of designation for health services in the old health board system due to the fact that these boundaries are now a cause of concern to many people seeking health services that are available in certain areas and not others; and if she will make a statement on the matter. Section 6 of the Health Act 2004 states that the Health Service Executive is a corporate body. In view of this, the provision of health services and the internal structures of how these services are delivered is a matter for the HSE. Accordingly, my Department has requested the parliamentary affairs division of the executive to arrange to have this matter investigated and to have a reply issued directly to the Deputy.
