Question 258: To ask the Tánaiste and Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he will confirm that his Department received an application for citizenship by naturalisation from a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath in 2004; the current status of the application; and if he will make a statement on the matter. An application from the person referred to in the Deputy's question was received in the Citizenship Section of my Department on 1 June 2004. I am advised by my officials that processing of the application of the person concerned has commenced. When this is completed, I will advise both the Deputy and the applicant of my decision.
