The details regarding the number and type of posts of responsibility and salary rates for primary, Voluntary Secondary and Community/ Comprehensive schools are outlined in the attached table.
The information outlined for the second level schools is the data that currently exists from the payroll database. The managerial authorities of schools are currently submitting details of new appointments to posts of responsibility for the 2006/2007 school year to my Department.
Details of the allowances for posts of responsibility are also available on my Departments' website www.education.ie by accessing "education personnel" and "payroll".
Under the terms of "Towards 2016 Ten Year Framework Social partnership Agreement 2006-2015" the representatives of the managerial authorities and teacher unions agree to enter discussions to revise existing promotion procedures applying in all schools in each of the sectors. The revised arrangements in each sector will be based on criteria that will be formulated and agreed for that sector and will apply to all appointments taking effect from the commencement of the 2008/2009 school year.
