Question 513: To ask the Minister for Transport if his attention has been drawn to the fact that driving a 13 miles per gallon 4x4 vehicle rather than a 25 miles per gallon for a year will waste more energy than leaving a refrigerator open for seven years, leaving a television on for 32 years or leaving a light bulb on for 34 years. I am aware of the relative energy usage and emissions performance of various categories of road vehicles and this is taken into account by Government in the development and implementation of sustainability policy.
