Question 81: To ask the Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources when he expects that gas supply from the Corrib gas field will be available to consumers here in view of Ireland's high dependency on energy imports; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [33556/06]

I understand from the developers, Shell E&P Ireland Ltd. that they expect that first gas will be available in 2009. I would add, however, that completion of the development works by the developers is clearly the principal factor that will determine the date for first gas.
