Question 265: To ask the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment the entitlement to redundancy in the case of a person (details supplied) in county Kildare who was made redundant on 9 March 2003; if any payment has been made to date; if and when matters will be concluded; and if he will make a statement on the matter. From inquiries made in the Redundancy Payments Sections of this Department, I can confirm that there is no record of a claim for statutory redundancy having been made in respect of the person concerned.
In accordance with the provisions of the Redundancy Payments Acts 1967 to 2003, a claim for statutory redundancy must be lodged within 2 years of the date of termination of employment. Since it is over 3 years since the person concerned was made redundant, he is now out of time for bringing a claim.
