Question 197: To ask the Tánaiste and Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if the review promised in Parliamentary Question No. 194 of 21 June 2006 has been completed; if it has been considered by senior Garda management; if action on foot of this review is being considered; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I am informed by the Garda authorities that the original review has been completed and, having been examined by senior Garda management, a full disciplinary inquiry under the direction of a Chief Superintendent from outside the Division in question has now been directed.
As this inquiry is ongoing, the Deputy will appreciate that it would not be appropriate for me to comment any further on the matter at this time.
