The person concerned, a Nigerian national, arrived in the State on 14 March 1996 and applied for asylum. On 26 July 2000 he was refused refugee status and did not appeal this decision. He submitted an application for residency based on parentage of his Irish born child. This application was refused on 14 December 2005.
