My Department and the Defence Forces are involved in an ongoing investment programme of refurbishment and new builds to meet Defence Force infrastructure requirements.

Since January 2000 the following projects have been undertaken in the Naval Base:

Refurbishment of Central Supply Unit Building

New Naval Technical Stores

Renovation of Old Married Quarters

Upgrade of Accommodation Blocks

Refurbishment of the Old Dry Canteen

Cadets Accommodation rewiring & heating.

The following projects are currently underway:

Refurbishment of Mast House

Refurbishment of Block 6, Office Accommodation

Sewage System Upgrade

Reroofing of the Technical Training Bay.

The total cost of the above investment was in excess of €12 million. This programme of investment will continue over the next five years and includes further projects for the Naval Base.
