Question 178: To ask the Minister for Education and Science when it is expected that staff from her Department will be transferred to Mullingar as part of the decentralisation proposals; if there will be an advanced move of staff in the near future to Mullingar; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The latest report by the Decentralisation Implementation Group (DIG) published yesterday gives an indicative date of Quarter 1 2009 for the provision of permanent accommodation in Mullingar. The decentralisation of the 300 posts in my Department from Dublin to Mullingar as set out in the Government's Programme of Decentralisation with take place when this accommodation is ready for occupation. No decision has been made regarding an advance move to temporary accommodation in Mullingar of some of these 300 posts.
