Question 283: To ask the Minister for Finance the number of properties which have been purchased for the intended use of housing asylum seekers; the cost of purchasing these properties; the number of these properties which have not been used to date to house asylum seekers; the cost to date of maintaining and securing each of these vacant properties; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The Reception and Integration Agency of the Department of Justice, Equality and Law Reform is responsible for the accommodation of asylum seekers. The Commissioners of Public Works acting on behalf of the Agency has purchased the following properties for the purpose of accommodating asylum seekers.
