Question 228: To ask the Tánaiste and Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the number of persons killed on Irish roads in 2005 by road user type, that is pedestrians, pedal cyclists, motor cyclists, car users and other road users. [28887/06]

I am informed by the Garda authorities that the statistics requested are not available at the Garda National Traffic Bureau. The Road Safety Authority which comes under the aegis of the Department of Transport is tasked with the compilation of statistics relating to road collisions and deaths within the State.
