Question 195: To ask the Minister for Health and Children the reason for the delay in publishing the report of the Review of the Ambulance Command and Control Centre in central Dublin which called for the establishment of a joint ambulance control in Dublin staffed by the Dublin Fire Brigade and Health Service Executive staff; to provide a timeframe for publication; to explain the levels of involvement of staff in any report on this subject; if she will detail the interim measures that are to be put in place to ensure that the concerns from the Devine Report are addressed; and if she will make a statement on the matter. Emergency ambulance services in the greater Dublin area are provided by both the Health Service Executive (HSE) and Dublin City Council through Dublin Fire Brigade. The HSE has advised that the review of Command and Control arrangements, referred to by the Deputy, has been undertaken by a group comprising of representatives from the HSE and Dublin City Council. My Department is advised that the report of the Review Group is at an advanced stage and will be completed shortly. The HSE has advised that the Review Group met with the various staff representations on several occasions in the course of its work. My Department has requested the Parliamentary Affairs Division of the HSE to have a more detailed reply issued directly to the Deputy on this matter. Department of Education and Science and the HSE to progress this matter.
