There are no proposals at present to introduce a grant scheme for any particular type of alternative energy provision for social housing. A number of pilot projects, including some involving the use of wood pellets, have been supported by the Department and are underway at present. When these are completed and the results assessed, decisions will be made on the future direction of policy in this area.
