Question 1431: To ask the Minister for Education and Science the number of section 29 appeals against refusal of enrolment which were lodged in relation to a school (details supplied) in County Kildare in 2006; the number of successful appeals; and the number of unsuccessful appeals. [30008/06]

A total of 7 appeals, under section 29 of the Education Act, were dealt with in 2006 in relation to refusals to enrol by the school referred to by the Deputy.

One of these appeals was withdrawn by the appellant before it came to hearing. Of the 6 appeals which went to hearing 5 were upheld in favour of the appellant and one was not upheld.
