This case involves a request for the payment of a specific allowance, which is payable to seconded teachers in accordance with the findings of the Teachers Arbitration Board in July, 2003, to a person who is not a seconded teacher. As such the person is not entitled to the allowance under the existing arrangements and is being paid in accordance with their contractual arrangements. My Department agreed to review the arrangements applying under the various national education initiatives following the implementation of the seconded teachers arbitration award. This review is continuing and I will advise the Deputy as to the outcome when the review is completed.
